Condolences
Emily - Absolutely stunning work and I can not wait to see the rest next week! Thank you so much Amanda for cautirpng our wedding just the way we wanted to remember it!
My mother, Frances E. Wheeler Hook always spoke so highly of Mrs. Fite I feel as if I have known her all my life. I know she was a great friend of Mom's. Please accept my deepest sympathies for the passing of a wonderful educator, lady, and friend. Fran Hook Hume
Throughtout my entire education I did not meet a more devoted instructor. Not only was Mrs. Fite a great educator of the "three R's" as we knew it back then at Irving School, but the "life lessons" she taught us were invaluable. To this day I believe I am a punctual and responsible individual due in great part to her direction. She was in charge of the traffic patrols on the street corner and year after year Irving School won honors from the city. I am still in contact with several members of the Irving School class who graduated 6th grade in 1962 and Mrs. Fite's memory is always with us. We are holding our 45th class reunion on September 21, 2013 and many Irving classmates should be there. How ironic to read her obituary today as her name has been mentioned numberous times in our planning of that event. And what a full life!! My sincerest sympathies to her family and host of "family" in the Alton area!!
Mrs. Fite was my fifth and six grade teacher at Irving school in Alton, Illinois. She was a very good teacher.
Mrs. Fite was my Supervising Teacher in 1964 at Irving Elementary School in Alton, Illinois while I completed my Student Teacher Requirement for Southern Illinois University. She was such an out- standing Educator and a true Professional Teacher. I will never forget her and all the information that she contributed during my time with her that assisted me in my three careers...Education(TeacherPrincipal and Superintendent)..Law Enforcement(Department of Corrections) (Illinois State Police) (FBI ) (Professor at SIUE) Throughout my 45 years and all three careers, I always remembered the things that she taught me about life and people. She will never be forgotten and there will be a special place in Heaven for her. GOD BLESS HER & HER FAMILY
