Bud Johnson, 88, of Carlinville, passed away Monday evening, August 22, 2016 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL surrounded by close family members. Bud was born on Easter Sunday, April 8, 1928 to Albert and Elsie (Roberts) Johnson on a farm near Chesterfield, IL. On December 27, 1947 he married Rosalie Knoche in St. Louis, MO and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2014. Bud was a life long grain farmer in the Chesterfield area, retiring in 2009. He also drove a school bus and enjoyed square dancing, working puzzles, watching NASCAR races and was a talented caramel maker. Bud was a member of the Plainview Masonic Lodge. Bud is survived by his son, Dean I. (Marsha) Johnson of Brighton, IL; daughter, Marla (Alan) Justice of Sherman, IL; son Roger D. (Karen Mitch) Johnson of East Alton, IL; grandchildren; Kelly Eldred, Kristy Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Katie Ginest, Shawn Simmons, Tyler Simmons, Tony Johnson, Katyann Johnson and 10 great grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 5 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL with Masonic Rites following at 7:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to Macoupin County T.A.I.L.S. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
