Obituary of Louie E. Schmedeke

Louie E. Schmedeke Louie E. Schmedeke, age 83, of Carlinville, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 12:30 P.M. at his residence. Louie was born April 9, 1925 in Salem, Missouri, the son of the late Roy and Sindy Stagstill Schmedeke. He married Mary E. Vollintine on October 29, 1943 in Hillsboro, Illinois. Early in their marriage, Louie served his country as a Tec. Sergeant in the Army-Airforce during WWll. After returning home, he worked as a mechanic at Webb-Mackie Ford in Virden. Later, he worked for Schien Body and Equipment Company in Carlinville, retiring in 1983. Then he owned and operated Louie's Radiator Shop in Carlinville until 2003. Louie was a member of American Legion Guy Baird Post 554 in Carlinville. He also loved to fish and deer hunt. Family Members: Wife, Mary E. Schmedeke, of Carlinville Daughter, Donna Schmedeke, of Carlinville Sons, Loren (wife, Shirley), Audy (wife, Mary), and Terry (wife, Bonnie) Schmedeke, all of Carlinville. Grandchildren, Kimberly Schmedeke, Darren Schmedeke (wife, Lisa), Jammie Gourley (husband, Michael), Elizabeth Thompson (husband, Jonathan), and Cindy Schmedeke Brother, Johnny Schmedeke (wife, LaDonna) of Atwater Several Nieces and Nephews Funeral Information Funeral Services for Louie E. Schmedeke will be on Friday, June 13th at 11:00 A.M. at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, with Rev. Chad Ozee officiating. Lettie Crays will accompany Cynthia LaMar as she sings The Lord's Prayer and Amazing Grace. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Bethel Ridge Cemetery in Atwater, where American Legion Guy Baird Post 554 will conduct military rites.
